Franklin & Baines is the brainchild of restauranteur Olivier Cohen, owner of award-winning south London French steak restaurant Bordelaise, and leisure entrepreneur Ashley Letchford, notably of the successful chain of London pubs, The Jam Tree.
Franklin & Baines offers DJs and live music at the weekends and is an ideal spot to catch up with family and friends any night of the week Tuesday-Friday or settle in for an afternoon over the weekend at this perfect new date spot, offering a delectable combo of food and drinks.
Located in the heart of Clapham High Street, Ashley & Olivier’s concept will offer a take on food from Britain and America with a big focus on grilled steaks. The theme is reflected in both the food and drinks menus
The list features concoctions such as Franklin’s Rose, which is Bombay Sapphire Gin with Rose liqueur, Grapefruit and Lemon, a Newfoundland Fashioned with Bourbon, Pine Maple and Juniper Bitters and Peanut Chocolate with peanut infused Bourbon with Sweet Vermouth, Cacao liqueur and chocolate bitters – ideal for a post dinner tipple. The wine list features different varieties from around the globe with some bold reds from the USA and a Sparkling from the UK.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Very attentive with drink the staff couldn’t do enough for us especially Cindy who looked after us, she was amazing and we would definitely return

I had a table booked for 12pm on Sun 8th Dec. My partner and I turned up, and it appeared closed, chairs on tables and no lights. We tried calling the number on Google and the number wasn't recognised. Eventually a guy came to the door and spoke to us as if he had no idea why we were there. I said we had a table booked and he explained that they'd had a Christmas party booked there the night before and that their cleaner turned up late that morning and they wouldn't be open until 1/1:30pm. I received no email, text message, or note on the door to explain the circumstance. Very unprofessional approach to the situation. But it was a blessing in disguise as we discovered a lovely Australian Cafe called Brickwood a few minutes walk away, which I would recommend.
